Chiropractic Care

The practice of chiropractic is the assessment of conditions related to the spine, nervous system and joints and the diagnosis, prevention and treatment, primarily by a chiropractic adjustment. Chiropractors practise within the scope of practice to examine, diagnose and provide care to patients with a variety of health concerns related to the spine and joints and the effect on the nervous system, such as low back, shoulder and knee pain, sports injuries, and overall wellness care. Chiropractors focus on patient-centered care, use manual therapies, and often work in collaboration with other regulated health professionals.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

CCS is extensively trained to treat you through the motherhood transition. Chiropractic care work with the body’s natural ability to adapt and function the way that is designed to, which is vital for the normal physiological function of both the mother and the baby during pregnancy and birth.

During pregnancy, your body goes through many changes, including both developmental and hormonal ones. Many of your ligaments may experience laxity and may cause stress to the spine or pelvis. As a result, many women experience lower back pain and other common prenatal complaints. Chiropractic care can not only help with musculoskeletal complaints but research has shown that chiropractic care throughout your pregnancy can decrease labor time and pains. â€‹

Is your baby breech or in not an ideal birthing position? Dr. Jill is Webster certified to help with mispositioned babies. Webster technique is a chiropractic technique designed to decrease intrauterine constraint that may limit a baby from getting into the ideal, head down position.

When your pelvis is misaligned, it can create uneven tension in the uterine ligaments, potentially restricting your baby’s space to move freely.

Through gentle adjustments Dr.Jill will help release tension, allowing your baby to find their optimal position for labor and birth.

Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy has been shown to:

  • Decrease Labor pains and time

  • Decrease need for medical interventions

  • More birthing positions available

  • Decrease aches and pains associated with body changes

  • Better sleep

  • Less Constipation

Chiropractic care is also very beneficial for new mamas in the 4th trimester or postpartum. As your body is affected by the change in hormones, new responsibility and roles as a mother chiropractic care can help ease this transition and support you and your new baby.

Pediatric Care

Chiropractic care can help children from birth throughout development. Birth is not only tough on mother but baby too and it is highly beneficial to have an infant checked soon after birth to help your little have nothing limiting their growth and development. Research shows that chiropractic care may help babies dealing with latching difficulties/ nursing challenges , torticollis, plagiocephaly ( flat head syndrome), growing pains, developmental milestones, colic, ear infections, concentration difficulties and every day slips, falls and tumbles. As well as little ones going through their multiple growth spurts are great times to have your little one checked for any asymmetrical or unbalance that may contribute to uncommon movement patterns, aches and pains or other systemic symptoms.

Dry Needling

Dry needling uses acupuncture needles, but unlike traditional Chinese acupuncture, dry needling employs a western medical understanding of the body.

Dry needling is a type of acupuncture where a needle is inserted into a trigger point of a muscle, causing it to twitch or contraction, which elicits a therapeutic effect.

Dry needling is particularly effective for pain management, injury recovery and tissue healing and muscle tension.  Dr. Cameron often combines dry needling with other modalities to speed up the recovery time and get you back to your activities sooner.

Manual Therapies

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release therapy is a hands-on technique used to manage muscle pain. “Myo” means muscle. “Fascial” refers to the connective tissue that covers and supports the muscles throughout your entire body. MFR is aimed at decreasing muscular tension, such as seen with trigger points ( both acute and chronic).  Tightened trigger points can restrict your muscle and joint movement. You may have pain at the site of a trigger point or widespread pain throughout your body. Myofascial release therapy focuses on releasing the tension in these trigger points.

Through Gentle hands on therapy , we are able to tailor each treatment visit to your

body’s needs.

Active Release Technique ( ART)

A movement based musculoskeletal technique aimed at treating deficits or injuries in muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Through both passive and active patient movement ART involves stretching injured or overworked tissues in a very specific pattern to restore mobility, decrease tension and aid in overall healing.
